COVID Policy Updates
Patients and Guests of Austin Retina,
Now that the majority of Texas is at a low exposure risk of contracting COVID-19, all of our satellite offices have chosen to change their mask procedures to say that they "recommend" (not require) mask wearing for patients.
We have thoroughly considered the risk/benefits of changing our policy in our satellite offices and have decided that we will also recommend (not require) mask wearing for patients seen at any of our satellite locations. At this time, we are still requiring masks at our Main (Central Austin), South Austin, Round Rock and Lakeway locations.
It is important to note that the CDC uses different wording for healthcare workers and still advise that those working with patients should use masks. Therefore, Austin Retina staff will still be required to wear masks at all locations.
We understand this is quite a large shift after 2+ years of wearing and requiring masks, and we don’t make this change lightly. Our hope is that this is a step in the direction that will allow less frustration all around without compromising anyone’s safety. We look forward to seeing your smiling face soon!
